Air traffic in Luxembourg continues to grow, increasing the need for optimal and safe flight control. To meet this demand, the Air Navigation Administration (ANA) is recruiting air traffic controllers to strengthen its approach and tower control unit.

Your Mission as an Air Traffic Controller
As an air traffic controller, your role is essential in ensuring the safety and efficiency of air operations within Luxembourg’s controlled airspace. From the control tower or the approach control unit at Luxembourg-Findel airport, a dynamic hub with 91,000 movements recorded in 2024, including commercial flights, cargo, and leisure aviation, you will be responsible for:
- Providing pilots with precise instructions (e.g. altitude, heading, routes, take-off and landing clearances).
- Ensure the safe, orderly and efficient flow of air traffic.
- Responding effectively to emergency situations and coordinating with relevant services.

The Selection Process
Comprehensive Training Program
Initial Training - Duration: 9 month
- Basic Training: Introduction to aviation principles, air navigation, meteorology, and regulations.
- Rating Training: Hands-on application in high-tech simulators and progressive specialization (approach control, tower control, arrival, and departure management).
- Boths trainings contain theoretical and practical exams and after completion the student obtains the student air traffic controller license, required to continue on-the-job training in Luxembourg.
- Initial training is held at Helsinki, Finland.
On-the-Job-Training - Duration: 15 months
- Gradual immersion in real-life conditions under the supervision of experienced instructors.
- Validation of operational skills, leading to a European air traffic controller license and full certification to operate.
